Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.'s)
1. Do I need special doors/hinges for HingeHeadsTM to work?
Not really. HingeHeadsTM fit most standard door hinges. A two-sided adapter is included with each
HingeHeadTM to fit 3/8 to 1/2 inch hinge-pins. The stand alone HingeHeadTM fits 5/8 inch hinge-pins
and we make an adapter for larger hinge-pins, although rare.
2. What if the HingeHeadsTM don't fit on my hinges/doors?
If the HingeHeadTM you have purchased doesn't fit on your door, your door may be a custom or non-
standard door. Non-standard doors are doors with too small/large hinges, and/or hinges that are
improperly installed without the required space between the door and the frame that holds the door. Hinge-
pins need the standard 1/4-inch offset from the door casing to allow clearance for the HingeHeadTM. If
the door (in question) allows for standard hinges, you may want to consider replacing your hinges, or try a
HingeHeadTM on a different door in your home. If your entire home is made of oversize antique hinges (as
seen in country homes, mansions or castles), we may be able to provide you with custom adapters.
3. Do you sell hinges that work with HingeHeadsTM?
Not currently. Most good quality hinges installed properly are perfect for your HingeHeadTM.
4. What tools do I need to install / remove HingeHeadsTM?
HingeHeadsTM do not require any special tools. They are easy to apply and remove by simply placing a pinch of
the supplied putty under the base of the HingeHeadTM between the base and the adaptor. Another small pinch
is placed between the adapter and the top of your hinge pin. If using a bottom (or foot) finial, a pinch of putty is
placed on the base (and adaptor, if needed), and then applied underneath to the bottom of the hinge pin.
5. I like the idea of HingeHeadsTM, but I can't find the design I like. Now what?
Customers and potential customers are always welcome to submit their suggestions. We do have an
aggressive list of upcoming products and new design lines that satisfy a diversity of home décor, garden
and lifestyle affinity needs.
6. Do you design and manufacture HingeHeadsTM?
Yes we DO! HingeHeadsTM are designed and manufactured in-house in Southern California. We work
with a group of skilled artists, sculptors and casters in our factory in Los Angeles to design and produce
every single piece. HingeHeadsTM are hand crafted and each design is unique.
