Idioms are bound to pop out of your mouth on a regular basis, but
let's be sure that what pops out is standard.
Here's a list to keep handy:
abide BY (a decision)
agree WITH (an idea)
comply WITH (not "comply to")
different FROM (a person or thing)
intend TO DO (not "intend on doing")
off (not "off of")
plan TO DO (not "plan on doing")
preferable TO (not "preferable than")
sure TO (not "sure and")
try TO (not "try and")
type OF (not "type of a")
When you have any doubt, Mrs. B encourages you to check the
dictionary by looking up the word ahead of the preposition in
question.
