good/well
We all do it (yes, even Mrs. B)....use "good" when we should use
"well."
(wrong) I just got my car tuned, and it's running "good."
The correct version would be:
v
I just got my car tuned, and it's running WELL.
It's fine to use the adjective "good" with linking verbs such as "be,"
"seem," "look," and "appear" as well as with "taste," unless you're
describing an ability to taste.
v
The rundown for the 11 is looking GOOD.
v
Pizza from there always tastes GOOD.
But
v
After the tongue burning incident, it took her awhile to taste
WELL again.
Be careful when using "good" and "well" after "feel."
v
"I feel GOOD" usually refers to mood.
v
"I feel WELL" is about health.
Mrs. B feels GOOD and WELL and hopes you do too.
