Hair Sculpture
­ Ladies
You learn the fundamental techniques used to
sculpt the four basic forms ­ the founda-tion to
all hair designs. As you begin to work with
these forms, alone or in combination, you
will reach a greater understanding of the basic
elements to hair design.
Hair Sculpture
­ Mens
Working from the four basic forms, you as a
student learn how to implement and adapt
the techniques to men's hair sculpture. Your
education advances general hair cutting
techniques to lessons on board & mustache
design.
Hair Design
This course begins to allow the artist within
you to manifest itself into your work. Students
become artists, using the medium of hair to
compost lines, shape directions &textures.
Careful attention is made to your arsenal or
shears, brushes & blow dryers.
Long Hair Design
This module continues to reinforce hair design
principles to create a finished look using longer
hair. Students also strengthen manual dexterity
skills, helping along the students self-confidence.
Perm Design
Students learn how perming can become
a vital component within a designs total
composition, achieving desired results by
adding texture to solid, graduated, increased
layers, uniformly layered and combination
forms. Each exercise is formed on specific
sculp-ture, making a correlation between
texture and it's effects on the sculpted form.
Since perm design is one of a salons most
prof-itable service, this module offers valuable
knowledge for a successful career in hair
design.
Color Design
Students learn the chemical properties of
color and basic application techniques. Then
attention is moved to how color ultimately
combines with form and texture to complete
a total design composition. Students begin
to realize the importance color plays in hair
design.
Ethnic Hair Design
This module focuses on working with straight
to over-curly hair. Application techniques in-
clude thermal and chemical processes. Hair
design techniques including braiding weav-
ing are also presented.
Nail Technology
This modules teaches the art of manicuring
and pedicuring with an emphasis on spa
techniques. Students will also be introduced
to artificial nail application, wraps, and tips.
Skin
Students learn the fundamentals of facial
techniques, back treatments, waxing, make-
up, and eyelash application.
State Board Class
A course specifically designed to prepare the
student for their state board test for licenses.
People Skills
Students learn the first complete communication
program specifically tailored to a salon
environment. The skills learned through this
class will help ensure your viability and help
you learn to communicate effectively with
clientele.
