Length of Stay
A short length of stay may mean the hospital discharges too quickly which may increase the risk for
complications or mortality (30+ or 180+ day). On the other hand, a longer length of stay results in higher
costs. Therefore it is a good idea to take into account why a hospital's length of stay is outside the norm.
