GALIL MOTION CONTROL KICKS OFF
PROGRAM FOR C-PROGRAMMERS
Offers Free C-Programmers Design Kit
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., September 9, 1998 -- Galil motion control, inc., pioneer and
leader of digital motion control technology, today announced they have kicked off a new
program designed for C-Programmers. The program includes Galil's DMCWIN software
that provides C libraries, sample programs, utilities, a complete terminal program, and
full documentation. This package is intended for those engineers who want to have the
control and flexibility of programming Galil controllers in C/C++. It is available now by
calling Galil at 800-377-6329.
The new program includes an extensive Dynamic Link Library (DLL) with
subroutines written in C/C++, which perform communications functions to the controller.
It also enables development of a wide variety of motion control applications using C/C++
functions, and provides full documentation with examples in C/C++.
"Even though you could always write in C/C++ with any of Galil's controllers, we
are very excited about this new program that puts everything together into one
conclusive, easy to use package," said Lisa Wade, vice president of sales and marketing
at Galil Motion Control. "Part of the importance of this program is that we are actively
supporting the engineers who use C/C++."
The C-Programmers toolkit provides C functions for applications such as
independent axis positioning, jogging, linear interpolation for up to 8 axes, 2D
coordinated motion for both linear and circular interpolation, contouring, electronic
gearing, electronic cam, helical, spline, S-curve, teach-and-playback, feedrate override,
tangent motion, control variables and I/O interface, automatic tuning, trippoints, data
input and output, multitasking and arrays, and sinusoidal commutation. And, these
functions are so easy to perform; you don't have to be a C-programmer to use them.
