GALIL MOTION CONTROL ANNOUNCES NEW HIGH
PERFORMANCE DMC-1800 PCI CONTROLLER
Designed For the Most Challenging OEM Applications
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 1, 1999 -- Galil motion control, inc., pioneer and leader
of digital motion control technology, today announced their new high performance DMC-
1800 Optima Series PCI motion controllers. The series is available in 1- through 8- axis
formats which enables control of both step and servo motors on any combination of
axes. This product has similar features to Galil's DMC-1700 ISA motion controller, but is
designed to install in a PCI slot. Users now can choose motion controllers in either PCI
or ISA formats.
The new DMC-1800 includes many high performance features as standard, such
as uncommitted analog inputs for interface to external sensors, secondary
communication FIFO for fast access to position data and auxiliary encoder inputs for
dual-loop control. Other features include programmable memory with multi-tasking,
symbolic variables and arrays, uncommitted digital I/O, and high-density shielded cables
for noise immunity. Modes of motion include linear and circular interpolation, contouring,
electronic gearing and ECAM.
"We are committed to providing our customers not only with the most advanced
motion controllers available, but in also providing many communication options for
maximum flexibility," said Lisa Wade, vice president of sales and marketing at Galil
Motion Control. "Galil's Optima Series now includes PCI, ISA, PC/104, USB, RS232 and
Ethernet formats."
