Galil Ships DMC-2100 Ethernet Controller - 2/2
Several features have been incorporated into the DMC-2100 controller including
a 32-bit microcomputer and such communication options as Ethernet and two
RS232/RS422/RS485 ports configurable up to 115Kb. Non-volatile memory for
application programs, variables and arrays permit operation without a host computer. It
also features multitasking, which allows simultaneous execution of up to eight
application programs.
Standard features of the DMC-2100 include sinusoidal commutation for
brushless motors, two encoder inputs for each axis, 64 configurable I/O, and
optoisolated forward and reverse limits and home inputs for each axis. Modes of motion
include independent axis positioning, linear and circular interpolation, contouring,
electronic gearing and ECAM. The DMC-2100 also allows multiple sets of coordinated
axes to operate simultaneously. Encoder frequencies of up to 12 MHz are accepted.
System setup and programming is easier than ever with such enhanced software
tools as WSDK for tuning and analysis, ActiveX Tool Kit for interface to Visual Basic, and
a C-Programmers Tool Kit. Upgrading is painless since the two-letter commands
maintain the same format as prior generations. Software is compatible with DOS, QNX,
Windows 3.1, 95, NT and 98.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing for the DMC-2130 is $2,495 for a single three-axis controller and $1,195
each for quantities of 100. For other sizes and quantity/price breakdowns, call Galil toll
free at 800-377-6329.
About Galil
Founded in 1983, Galil Motion Control, Inc. was the first company to produce a
microprocessor-based servo motion controller without tachometer feedback. Since the
introduction of their first controller, they have continued to advance the technology and
now have over 200,000 controllers installed worldwide and are known as the industry
pioneer and leader. Following in this tradition, Galil recently was the first to market with a
motion controller designed for the USB. Galil is a privately held company and has been
profitable for over 55 consecutive quarters. Today, you will see Galil controllers at work
in such applications as machine tools, manufacturing, medical equipment, aerospace,
materials handling, packaging, semiconductor manufacturing and testing, food
processing, textiles and a wide-range of test and measurement equipment.
