SET-UP SOFTWARE
Galil's set-up software is for easily dis-
playing and editing the configuration
parameters of DMC-1700, DMC-1500,
DMC-1400 or DMC-1000 controllers.
You can see the contents of the con-
troller registers "at a glance."
You can view motor type, filter
parameters, default settings, switch sta-
tus, etc. To change a parameter, you
merely "click" on that parameter with
the mouse and enter a new value. This
makes setting up the controller a snap.
The software tool also lets you save
(and load) parameters to (and from) a
file. This is useful prior to master resets
or changing ROMs. The software also
has a terminal and on-line help.
COMDISK WITH DLLs
COMDISK provides several programs
for communicating between a PC and
the controller. These programs include:

MCS MOTOR SIZING
The Motion Component Selector soft-
ware provides the designer with a tool
to select the proper elements for a
motion system including motors,
amplifiers, and controller. The menu-
driven software prompts the designer
to enter appropriate system data such
as load type and inertia and motion
profile. MCS then performs a mathe-
matical analysis and selects the appro-
priate motors and amplifiers for the
system. A print function provides the
designer with a written report of the
analysis and component selection.

HPGL-TO-DMC
HPGL-to-DMC software takes output
from a plotter file and turns it into a
series of commands suitable for DMC
motion controllers. This software trans-
lates .PLT files into the proper digital
motion control commands. These
commands are then executed by the
controller which, in turn, produces
motion. HPGL-to-DMC is best suited
for applications where the DMC con-
troller is connected to a device that
emulates a plotter.
THIRD-PARTY
SOFTWARE
Many vendors have written software
for Galil Controllers. Third-party soft-
ware includes operator interface pack-
ages and CNC packages. Consult Galil
for the most recent listing of third-
party vendors.
