SEMINARS:
MOTION CONTROL MADE EASY
Galil Motion Control is well-known for its informative semi-
nars. More than 10,000 engineers have attended Galil-spon-
sored seminars. The latest seminar, "Motion Control Made
Easy," is taught by Dr. Jacob Tal, a well-known expert in the
motion control field and author of over 100 publications.
The seminar reviews the basics of programmable
motion control and introduces the latest innovations and
design techniques. Topics include: description of servo ele-
ments, motion component selection, tuning, motion pro-
gramming, and design examples. Attendees receive Dr.
Tal's textbook, Step-by-Step Design of Motion Control Systems
(a $25 value), Galil's Motion Component Selector soft-
ware (a $50 value), and a complete set of course notes.
The price of the seminar is just $59.
The seminar series is held during the Spring and Fall at
various locations throughout the United States and
Canada. Call Galil at 800-377-6329 for the exact loca-
tions and dates of the seminar nearest you.
FREE NEWSLETTER
As an industry service, Galil publishes a quarterly newsletter,
ServoTrends. ServoTrends provides information about new
products and applications. Dr. Jacob Tal writes an in-depth
technical article about servo control in each issue. Please con-
tact Galil at 800-377-6329 to start your free subscription.
PRODUCT TRAINING
Galil offers two-day technical training workshops for the
DMC controllers and software. The school is offered at
Galil in Mountain View, California. The training is
designed for users of Galil controllers who want to learn
about installing, tuning and programming Galil motion
controllers. Enrollment is limited to allow one-on-one
attention and hands-on participation. Call Galil at 800-
377-6329 for the date of the next school.
TECHNICAL BOOKS
by Dr. Jacob Tal
Motion Control by Microprocessors
169 pages, 1984, $25
Presents mathematical model of digital motion control sys-
tems. Describes digital design methods and develops simpli-
fied ways for converting between the continuous and digital
time domain.
Motion Control Applications
145 pages, 1989, $25
Discusses a variety of applications and how to solve them
using motion controllers. Includes design and programming
of applications.
Step-by-Step Design of Motion Control Systems
200 pages, 1994, $25
Design book for the novice. Covers entire range of control
from understanding theory and operation of motion systems
through component selection, analytical design, stability
analysis, and programming applications. Written in a modu-
lar form for studying sections individually. Specific applica-
tions include: independent motion, linear and circular inter-
polation, electronic gearing, tension control, and dual-loop
systems for backlash compensation. Presentation takes the
user step-by-step through the design process including
design, programming, and implementation.
