broad, tractable power and torque of a large-displacement 4-stroke engine, the DR-Z400SM is as agile as it looks and fun to ride, whatever street, boulevard or highway you're headed for.

plating for weight reduction and better heat transfer, and lightweight magnesium-alloy
clutch, magneto and cam covers.
Compact electric starter motor and an automatic compression release system for easy

Slim bodywork featuring super-smooth transitions between the fuel tank, seat, radiator
and side covers and rear fender.

Long-stroke inverted front forks derived from the Suzuki RM250 motocross racing
machine, featuring a special, friction-reducing hard-alumite Kashima coating on the
fork's outer-tube surfaces for an extra-smooth stroking action.
Long-travel, damping and spring preload adjustable rear shock absorber connected to
a stylish, tapered aluminum-alloy swingarm with a progressive linkage.
Massive 310mm (12.0in.) floating type front and 240mm (9.0in.) rear disc brakes
provide strong stopping power.
Trim, short fenders front and rear accentuate the light and quick supermotard image.
High-grip 120/70R-17 front and 140/70R-17 rear radial tires mounted on the wide
aluminum-rim wheels are painted black for adding a "street" touch to the DR-Z400SM.
Compact multifunction digital instrument cluster displaying speedometer, odometer,
dual tripmeters with both addition and subtraction functions, clock and stopwatch with
subtraction capability.
The DR-Z400SM's electricals powered by sealed, maintenance-free battery, including
a bright 60/55W halogen headlight to shine your way.
New graphics, shared with the 2006 RM series, and new clear turn signal lenses both
