SETTING REAR SHOCK SUSPENSION TRAVEL
The rear suspension travel of GEMINI can be set by changing the rear shock mount to a different swingarm hole position.
The Gemini DH has one position 180mm.
1. To change the travel, secure the bike upright in a work stand.
2. Support the rear wheel to prevent the swingarm from dropping in the next step.
3. Loosen the smaller rear shock mounting bolt (1) on the left side of the bike.
4. Place a towel or other soft material to act as a buffer between the swingarm and seattube to protect the frame finish.
Now, supporting the weight of the swingarm, remove the larger bolt (2) from the right side of the bike.
NOTE: The larger shock bolt should slide out with too much resistance. If it is difficult to remove, it may be an indication of
a damaged bolt, rear shock bushing or frame mounts. Have you Cannondale Dealer examine your bike to be sure.
5. Move the shock end to the new position. Consult the illustrations below to determine the position of the rear shock
reservoir for your bike size and travel position.
6. Apply a film of grease to the larger bolt shaft and install it through the shock eyelet from the right side of the bike.
7. Apply Loctite 242 and torque the smaller mounting bolt to 5.0Nm (44 In·Lbs).
WARNING: Your fingers or hands can be pinched or crushed if they are caught between the
frame and swingarm when the rear shock is removed. Be sure to keep your hands and fingers out
of the way.
