CHAPTER FOUR
Inspection, Adjustment & Lubrication
bolt. Visually inspect each bolt to check that at least one thread
of the bolt extends past the nylon insert of the Nylock nut.
In some cases, the bolt in question needs to allow pivoting
of the parts it holds together. In these cases, you must inspect
the bolt to make sure there is not undo looseness, and that the
nylock nut holding the parts leaves at least one thread of the
bolt showing over the top of the nut.
As an alternative, with each bolt that is not part of a pivoting
structure you can also check the torque value:
1/4" bolts (using 7/16" wrench):
23-27 lb·in (2.6-3 Nm)
5/16" bolts (using 1/2" wrench):
23-27 lb·in (2.6-3 Nm)
Adjustment
Use the proper tools to tighten any loose bolts. If you are
unsure of what constitutes a loose bolt, take the child carrier to
your Trek dealer for inspection and repair.
If the child carrier has any damaged fabric, repair or replace
the damaged part, or take the child carrier to your Trek dealer
for service.
