CHAPTER ONE
Guide to Safe Child Carrier Use
Protect the child carrier from accidental damage.
Park the child carrier in a place where it will be out of the
way. If you suspect the child carrier has been damaged or
tampered with in any way, ensure that there is no problem, or
take it to your Trek dealer for inspection and repair.
Never modify the child carrier.
The child carrier's parts have been carefully designed
to meet the strength and function requirements of safe
use. Modifying these parts in any way may make the child
carrier unsafe.
It may be unsafe to use accessories (child seats, bag hooks,
rain covers, etc.) other than those approved by Trek.
It may be unsafe to install or replace parts not supplied or
approved by Trek.
Any modification of the child carrier's frame, fabric seat, or
components means that the child carrier no longer meets our
specifications and will therefore void the child carrier's warranty.
WARNING
Never modify the child carrier in any way, including sanding,
drilling, filing, removing redundant retention devices, or by
any other method. An improperly modified child carrier can
cause loss of control, resulting in serious personal injury. Do
not modify the carrier, and make sure accessories are safe
before use with this child carrier.
