Mathematics
· Find images around you that reflect concepts important in mathematics. For example,
choose a number such as 5 and take a stop-motion image of all things that you see
related to the number 5: e.g. a flower with 5 petals, 5 fingers, 5 books, 5 people,
5 animals. The scale of the number could be much bigger or smaller of course.
How about showing fractions of things, for example? Or finding things that equal
100 or 1,000?
· Take a popular story that relates to counting or size or some other mathematical
concept. Create a script and act out the story.
Art & Music
· Visual Arts and Music Appreciation
Choose a favorite piece of music and create a visual mood piece or story that goes
along with it.
· Musical Composition
Write and record your own song. If you aren't sure how to start, choose a melody
that is familiar and write some new words. Film yourself singing and/or playing
instruments. You can also record a voice-over separately for an improved sound
quality. Edit together the video and music to create a music video.
· Poetry
Choose a poem that expresses an emotion: love, anger, sorrow, happiness,
frustration, loneliness, or relief. Film yourself reading the poem and acting out the
feelings. Or, create a more elaborate film by recording a voice-over of the poem and
then creating visual expression with live actors or with props and models.
