Landscaping at LEGOLAND - The grounds at LEGOLAND
"
are covered with greenery,
trees, shrubs and flowers from all over the world. Vibrant flowers don't just bloom in the
Springtime at LEGOLAND, many add color to the park year-round. Unique plants from New
Zealand and Africa can be found in Miniland, along with 1,360 bonsai trees. LEGOLAND has
five full-time gardeners, and Landscape Supervisor Kyle Silrum was hired partly due to his
interest in and knowledge of bonsai, which is beneficial when it comes to the upkeep for
Miniland. LEGOLAND prides itself on not being the typical theme park, and one way of
showing that is with the unique landscaping throughout the park.
LEGO Learning Institute The LEGO Educational Division had become a successful
element of the LEGO Company. When working with LEGO products, children learn through
facing challenges and experiencing success in solving them. This is fun for students, which
explains why solutions from LEGO Educational Division can increase their rate of learning
significantly. A wide range of products are available covering all ages, from early years to
high school and even university. The materials are naturally modified and tailored to suit the
different curriculum requirements around the world. LEGOLAND California's LEGO
MINDSTORMS class lets kids build and program cutting edge, computerized robots that obey
your every command.
The Best Job in the World Building and creating with LEGO bricks all day long is seen by
many kids as the best job in the World, and four people at LEGOLAND get paid to do exactly
that. The Master Model Builders at LEGOLAND come from different countries and
professional backgrounds, but all have the love of playing with LEGO in common. They are
responsible for building new models, as well as upkeep on more than 5,000 models in the
park. All of the models are designed on special Brick Paper, prototypes are built then the
final model is built with the updated specifications and glued for sturdiness. Guests at the
park can walk by the Model Shop and watch these creators at work. The Miniland attraction
and most rides provide unique and `hidden' humorous elements within the models, so keep
an eye out for the markings of the Master Model Builders.
