Bigger is Better!
There's an exciting successor to the tried and trusted Carry
van a new 1.6 litre APV model that's bigger, with marked
improvements in safety and durability. Priced at just $19,500
the new model is only $500 more than the Carry. The biggest
improvement the new APV offers is its carrying capacity. There's
a 38% increase in payload while the Carry managed 585 kg,
an 810 kg load is a breeze for the longer, wider and taller new
APV. It's at dealerships now.
Ignis Super 1600s are storming towards victory in the 2005 FIA Junior
World Rally Championships. The bright yellow Suzukis have just taken
first, second, third and fourth position in the Acropolis Rally of Greece,
regarded as the hottest and toughest event on the calendar.
It marked the second successive JWRC win for Swedish driver Per-
Gunnar Andersson. British driver Guy Wilks came home second, while
third and fourth in class were Urmo Aava and Kosti Katajamaki in
identical 160kW front-wheel-drive, works-supported models.
Andersson, who won the 2004 JWRC title, also scored well in the 35th
International Rally of New Zealand in April, winning his class in the
Ignis Super 1600 and finishing a remarkable 17th overall. Andersson
now leads the Championship with Guy Wilks in second place.
And Another Monster Win!
Nobuhiro Tajima, nicknamed `Monster' for his remarkable
motor sport achievements, monstered the competition at
Cardrona once again this year to win the International
Silverstone Race to the Sky in the amazing 1000 hp hill
climbing Suzuki. After six wins in the race's eight year history
it's little wonder the track is now known to many as `Tajima's
Mountain'. This year's winning time was 8 minutes 10.84
seconds, but he says he's still chasing an as-yet elusive target
clocking it in less than 8 minutes.
