SUZUKI Canada: Toronto Debut of Two New Vehicles Fuels Big Growth Plans /page 3
Fit with SUZUKI Canada Product Line
Introduced in March 2002, the Aerio sedan and five-door Fastback, proved popular with
first-time buyers and young couples wanting breakout style without sacrificing interior
features, space, power and performance. The Verona and Swift
+
models unveiled
today at the Canadian International Auto Show will enable SUZUKI to capitalize on its
current product lines, sales and marketing momentum to offer a new level of value to
Canadian buyers.
"The Aerio has emerged as a serious contender to virtually every higher-priced compact
car competitor," said Mike Kurnik, National Manager - Advertising and Public Relations,
SUZUKI Canada. "Our Vitara, XL-7 and Grand Vitara compact SUVs have
distinguished themselves with the best SUV value in the industry. And now, with these
newest 2004 models, SUZUKI has an answer for today's consumer who demands more
value for the money. It's True!"
Recent Product Accolades
SUZUKI recently received a number of key awards and accolades. The SUZUKI Aerio
was named Edmunds.com's "Most Wanted" as part of the automotive web site's annual
compilation of favorite models in a variety of vehicle classes. Equally impressed with
SUZUKI vehicles was Consumers Digest, which designated the Aerio and XL-7 as "Best
Buys" for 2003.
On the safety front, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the SUZUKI
Aerio its highest overall rating of "Good" in its most recent 64-km frontal offset crash
tests, and designated it a "Best Pick" in the competitive compact car category.
Finally, the SUZUKI Vitara received the 2003 Automotive Market Environmental
Superiority (AMES) Award, which recognizes the most environmentally sensitive
vehicles. The Vitara is one of only 16 automotive models to win an AMES Awards for
three or more consecutive years, and SUZUKI is the only specialty manufacturer to
receive the award in each of the four years.
