rider Clint McBain. Unfortunately, points leader McBain slid out in the infield just prior to the
red flag and was not able to join the restart.
With the "new race" being only 7 laps, Francis was determined to get back the lead he had
before the red flag. Charging from the line, the front-runners rocketed down the track with
Francis emerging as the leader. So determined was Francis to keep his lead, he established
a new lap record in the process, beating the record Clint McBain had set in qualifying just the
day before. The new Dialbo Suzuki rider, Jeff Williams, showed that he was back in form
as he chased Francis right to the checkered flag, giving Suzuki riders another 1 2 finish.
This was Jeff's first outing on the GSX-R1000 at the National level.
In Pro 600 Sportbike action, Coors Light Racing/Blackfoot Suzuki rider Clint McBain rode
his GSX-R600 to a 2

place finish after qualifying in second spot on the grid. With his wins at
Shannonville and Calgary, Clint's 2
nd
place finish gives him a strong lead in the championship
as he heads to Mosport where he holds the lap record in the Pro 600 class.

Francis Martin takes over the lead in the Pro Open Sportbike class on his Coors Light
Racing/Fast Company Suzuki GSX-R1000 with Blackfoot Suzuki rider Clint McBain close
behind in 2

spot on his Suzuki GSX-R1000.
In the Pro 600 Sportbike Championship race, Clint McBain on his Coors Light
Racing/Blackfoot Suzuki GSX-R600 maintains his points lead with a 17-point margin at 150
points.
