(2) Swingarm
The basic design of the 2003 GSX-R1000 swingarm is similar to the one on the 2002 GSX-
R1000.
Swingarm length is 542mm, which is same as the 2002 GSX-R1000.
The swingarm on each side has an extruded main arm running between the extruded pivot tube
and the axle mount end. The extruded main arms feature an internal reinforcing rib, dividing each
arm into two lengthwise sections and contributing to rigidity.
A cast cross brace is welded between the main arms, behind the swingarm pivot tube.
A stamped front deck section is welded between the main arms, the cast cross brace and the
swingarm subframe bracing.
