2) Balanced Chassis Dimensions
The new GSX-R1000's basic chassis dimensions are similar to the 2002 GSX-R1000, because
the 2002 GSX-R1000's dimensions were found to be also optimal for the 2003 design.
Intensive tests have resulted in a few dimension modifications designed to further contribute to the
GSX-R1000's already excellent handling response. Compared to the 2002 GSX-R1000, the new
GSX-R1000 has been changed as follows:
Overall height has been increased from 1,135mm on the 2002 GSX-R1000 to 1145mm. This
modification came from reviewing the overall aerodynamic performance.
Wheelbase is 1,410mm, which is unchanged.
The new GSX-R1000's weight has been reduced by 2 kg as compared to the 2002 GSX-R1000.
