(5) Internal Oil Routing
The 2002 GSX-R1000 had external oil hoses for sending the lubricating oil from the upper
crankcase to the cam-chain tensioner adjuster.
On the new GSX-R1000, the lubricating oil sent to the cam-chain-tensioner adjuster is routed
internally, through the upper crankcase and cylinder head.
This design eliminates external oil hoses and saves about 50 grams, as compared to the 2002
GSX-R1000.
