INTAKE AND EXHAUST CONTROL
AND ENGINE MANEGEMENT SYSTEM
The SET (Suzuki Exhaust Tuning) system controls exhaust pressure waves in order to improve
engine combustion at low rpm range.
In general, exhaust systems for high performance motorcycles tend to create drops in torque at
low-and mid-range, due to the influence of exhaust pressure pulses.
The drop in torque at mid-range has been improved by measures such as choosing the right
length, diameter and collection method for the exhaust pipes, but the drop in torque at low-range
is difficult to improve with such methods.
The drop in torque at low-range is caused by exhaust pressure pulses generated inside the
exhaust system. Combustion at low-range can be improved by dampening such pressure pulses.
