(2) Lightweight Muffler Materials
Muffler materials are the same as on the 2002 GSX-R1000: core pipes are made of titanium, and
outer pipe is made of aluminum alloy.
The muffler has two core-pipe mounting plates, made of titanium.
The combination of titanium core pipe and aluminum outer pipe is lighter than an all-titanium
muffler. Actually, for the same size and structure, a muffler made of titanium and aluminum is
about 300 grams lighter than an all-titanium muffler.
