(6) Engine Management System
The new GSX-R1000's ECM operates as an engine management system, controlling the fuel
injection system, ignition system, self-diagnostic system, SDTV system, SET system and fuel
pump system.

The ECM's integrated self-diagnostic system operates in two modes, User Mode and Dealer
Mode. In User Mode, the system notifies the user of faults using the LCD display and LED lamps.
In Dealer Mode, the function of individual Fuel Injection system components can be checked
using a special mode selection switch.
