(3) Signal Generator
Engine rpm is detected using a crankshaft position sensor and signal generator installed on the
right end of the crankshaft. The signal generator was upgraded from 8 trigger-pole on the 2002
GSX-R1000 to 22 trigger-pole on the new GSX-R1000.
The upgraded signal generator improves the accuracy of the engine rpm signals sent to the ECM,
achieving more precise fuel injection volume and more efficient combustion.
