16 "aluminum-alloy wheels.
Very stylish and lightweight, the 16"
aluminum-alloy wheels on the Grand
Vitara not only enhance its looks, but
help improve performance. (Standard on
EX, optional on LX)
Let their be light.
Fog lamps come standard on the Grand
Vitara EX, a feature which greatly
improves visibility in poor weather.
Built smart.
Suzuki designed our 4WD SUVs so they
don't rack up miles when towed. And
with a towing capacity of up to 1,500
lbs., the Grand Vitara also has a lot of
pulling power, too.
Shift-on-the-fly 4WD.
On some SUVs, you have to stop to
activate the 4-wheel-drive system. On a
Grand Vitara, you don't. The optional
shift-on-the-fly 4WD system lets you
engage 4WD at speeds of up to 60 mph
while traveling in a straight line.
What's under the hood?
The Grand Vitara comes with a 165-hp,
2.5-liter, 24-valve, DOHC V6 engine.
The towing capability is up to 1,500 lb.
5-speed automatic transmission.
The electronically controlled automatic
transmission has five speeds, as well as
a Power-mode selector switch. (Standard
on EX, optional on LX)
Peace of mind is a nice thing.
Second-generation dual-stage airbags
will deploy at different rates, depending
on the severity of the crash and the
distance from the front-seat occupant to
the airbags.
"Kids will be kids."
Since they all will, Suzuki vehicles have
rear-door child-safety locks. You already
have a lot of things on your mind; this
doesn't need to be one of them.
Better safe than sorry.
No cargo is more precious than that of a
child. That's why every Suzuki features a
child-seat LATCH system (Lower Anchors
and Tethers for CHildren) to help secure
your child's seat.
Keeping impact at a minimum.
The doors on the Grand Vitara are
reinforced with side-impact beams that
help protect you in the event of
a collision.
