out just what you want in a vehicle. Then, and only then, do
we put our engineers to work to make it happen.
We redesigned, rebuilt and re-engineered this new vehicle
from the dirt up, giving the Grand Vitara true 4WD capability
that leaves those wannabe SUVs back where they belong.
It has a standard V6. Available Four-Mode
4WD with something called "active torque
split" for surefooted performance on the
road, and superior, rock-solid traction when
you're not. The new built-in ladder frame
provides structural rigidity, and high ground
clearance plus short front and rear overhangs
give you confident maneuvering over rough
trails and uneven surfaces. Translation? This
is one authentic SUV. Rocks. Streams. Snow.
Dirt. Bring it on, Mother Nature. Grand Vitara
can take it. Road or not.

Take the Suzuki onto rocky terrain that would
be difficult for the RAV4 and CR-V to handle, and the
new suspension shines. Switch the four-wheel-drive
system into low gear, lock the center diff, and the
Suzuki will crawl over just about anything
