In the name of the W.P.A. Teachers
Union, I am more than glad to welcome
the Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln
Brigade. This question, therefore, is of the
most intimate interest to me. I pledge, as
the President of the Union, to increase our
activity in behalf of the Lincoln boys.

Spain and to their fellow comrades in
arms, my heartiest greetings. I know that
my fellow union members loin with me in
wishing you a quick return to active civil
life.
WASHINGTON -Right in our Capitol.
The Lincoln Brigade Vets Conference had
a banquet on the order of business, so a
committee of Washington Friends secured
a fashionable place to throw a huge
banquet for the SPANISH WAR PETS.
That evening the 30 young Lincoln Vet
delegates made their appearance to a
surprised Banquet Hall manager, who
stood agape at the door-way saying, "My!
Those are awful young looking SPANISH
AMERICAN WAR VETERANS".
NEW YORK POST-- The largest Lincoln
Post in the country. Several hundred Vets
not counting the last batch. Captain Marty
Hourihan, a commander of the Lincoln
Battalion in its early days, is now New
York Post Commander, in addition to
doing a big job putting over the F.A.L.B.
Trade Union Conference, to get jobs and
rehabilitation funds for the Lincoln men.
Nils Berg is the Finance Secretary for the
Posts. The Post meets regularly every
other Wednesday, but all the members
don't. Well, they will!
The Post has had several successful dances
and some of our members are married off.
CHICAGO-Moe Teitelbaum, Post
Commander; James Robinson Adjutant
and Sam Fuller is Executive Secretary.
Paul Burns, our National Commander, is
working hard on the Midwest Record.
We greet the American boys returning
from Spain where they fought for trade
unionism and enabled us to continue
fighting its battles here.

Caw-go. The Chicago Vets marched with
an American Legion Post to protest the
Munich sellout. They all have good
looking uniforms and cut quite a figure at
all occasions for Spain and Democracy.
DETROIT--The Vets of this auto town
picketed the German Consulate. They
carried signs protesting against Nazi
activities against Jews in Germany. One
sign bore the legend, "We fought Hitlerism
in Spain and we'll fight it here". Fritz
Hailer, German Consul was furnished with
a police guard. Sidney Linn is Post
Commander and Tauno Sundsten,
Adjutant. The Post meets every week and
dedicates itself to Democracy and Peace.

his duties by Eddie Flaherty, both in the
Vets Post and as head of the Friends office
in Philly. Sterling Rochester is Adjutant ;
Eddie Melnicoff, Secretary; and Martin
Weiss, Sergeant at Arms. (The office of
Sgt. at Arms--oh, don't get scared).
The Vets here are working very hard to
put over the Friends campaign to secure
rehabilitation funds. They should receive a
commendation for send-
ing a well written letter or protest to the
Dies Committee, when the phonies Sobel
and Halpern were used as witnesses.
CLEVELAND--Hy Stone, otherwise
known as "Sweet Pea", a Vet from
Williamsburgh is way down in Ohio as

December 3rd, Cleveland. Vets held
elections for Post officers. Albert Hires

ST. LOUIS AND BOSTON will have a
Post - or No Pasaran! LOS ANGELES,

democracy, and are threatened with being
deported to Fascist countries. Three
