2004 XL-7: AMES Award Winner
The automotive industry's leading authority on
environmental performance, AMES (Automotive Market
Environmental Superiority) Award LLC, annually evaluates
all makes and models of vehicles to determine which ones
are built to be the most sensitive to the environment. For
five consecutive years, American Suzuki vehicles have been
recognized with AMES Awards. And this year is no
exception--the 2004 Suzuki XL-7 has been honored in the
mid-size SUV category, beating out the likes of the Honda
Pilot, Dodge Durango, Ford Explorer, Toyota 4Runner
and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
To choose the winners, AMES Award LLC divided 252
vehicles available in the U.S. for the 2004 model year into
17 classes--eight car and nine light truck, which were
designed to group vehicles by the utility and lifestyle needs
consumers typically look for in a vehicle. All vehicles were
then evaluated based on environmental impact during their
"use" phase, which meant evaluators considered everything
from regulated and non-regulated emissions to recycled
material content. Those models that ranked in the upper
quartile of each class earned a coveted AMES Award.
While you're already the proud owner of a Suzuki, you
might be interested in knowing that according to AMES
Awards research, as many as 90 percent of today's consumers
who are concerned with sustaining the environment choose
AMES Award winners over non-winners. So go ahead...brag
to your friends and family that you and your Suzuki are
helping to preserve the environment!

as "Best Buys" for the second straight year as a result. That
makes the Aerio a winner every year since it was first
introduced as part of the 2003 Suzuki lineup!

price, ownership costs, warranty coverage, safety ratings,
historic reliability, styling, ergonomics, comfort, amenities
and cargo room. Performance factors, including acceleration,
