2. Organise an awareness raising event in your school. We will supply you
with more information, newsletters and two short videos made in Burma, as well
as plenty of friendly advice.
3. Write to:

Lieutenant General Khin Nyunt, the current chairman of the National Educa-
tion Committee of 'Myanmar' (Burmese military regime equivalent to Minister
of Education) to express your request that the Burmese government open all
the schools and colleges to the people of Burma. A sample letter is at-
tached.

The Irish Ministers of Education and/or Foreign Affairs, urging them to raise
the issue of the Open Schools Campaign at EU level and to impress upon
their colleagues there the urgent need to take appropriate action. A sample
letter is attached.

4. Organise a fund raising event with your class, colleagues or friends and
donate the proceeds to the "Burma Scholarship Fund." Burma Action-Ireland is
currently funding third level fees for ten Burmese students living in exile on the
Indian and Thai borders.
