About the Installation
The installation procedure is simple, but should be performed someone with sufficient privilege who is familiar
with VMS and experienced in the use of DCL commands.
1. Decide on a target directory to place the font files. You will need to create the directory prior to moving files
into it.
2. Mount the media and copy files from it to the target directory.
3. Perform post installation duties. These duties consist of testing the font modules on your printer and
making them available for users.
Deciding where to Install Font Files
We recommend that you segregate your fonts from The Corporate IMAGE from other system fonts (e.g., the
DECpage Font Library, DECwindows screen fonts and TEX fonts) to avoid conflicts with your existing system
configuration.
Performing the Installation
1. Choose a target Directory to hold the fonts and related files.
(default is Sys$Sysdevice:[FONTS]).
If it does not now exist, create the directory:
$ CREATE/DIRECTORY -
SYS$SYSDEVICE:[FONTS]/OWNER=SYSTEM/PROT=(W)
1. {2.}Mount the media and copy the font files.
Since the media is file-structured all that is necessary is to allocate a free device (the examples below
assume MediaDevice is unused):
$ ALLOCATE
