Post-Installation Duties
CFFF Font file verification for LN03/DEClaser printers
This step describes the check for successful down-loading and acceptance of each logo in the distribution.
For each logo file with an extension of ".
LFF
":
·
$Copy
or $
Print
the file to an LN03 or DEClaser printer. (On an LN03, the front-panel display should
flash "6" while the font is being downloaded).
Nothing should print. The printer may or may not eject a page at the end of the download, depending
on whether your site resets printers before or after a print job.
Possible LN03 errors: If a "3" is displayed on the front panel during the download, the font memory has
been exceeded. Print a test page to determine the amount of "memory available for fonts" and also
whether other downloaded fonts are resident in the printer.
Add a RAM memory if necessary.
·
If the preceeding step completed successfully, manually print a test/summary sheet (on the LN03, press the
square white button on the back marked with a "T").
Your font should be displayed on the top line of the listing of resident fonts in the printer. Note that
since the characters "AaFfGgIiJjLl...etc" are used to print each font, only portions of graphic fonts such
as logos, letterheads and signatures will be displayed.
Retain the test sheet for future reference -- you may need to refer to the Type-Family-ID and the Font-
File-ID (displayed on the left-hand side of the page) to install or use the fonts with your application
software.
Font file verification for non-CFFF printers
Perform the above steps with the downloadable font version for your printer type. Observe whether or not the
printer exhibits normal behavior for downloads. At the end of the download, print a font summary sheet to
determine whether or not the font was loaded successfully.
