printer type stored in the Site Printer database when not downloading.
4. Using your Logo
Your letterhead/logo can be placed anywhere in a document by using a Printer Control block with the
"LETTERHEAD" keyword.
The control block invokes the device control sequence which you added to the printer attributes file and inserts
the letterhead wherever the control block appears in your document.
·
Insert the following Printer Control Block
} into your documentusing \GoldKey{Cmnd}\GoldKey{Cmnd}:
-------------------------START CONTROL-------------------------
PRINTER TABLE LETTERHEAD
-------------------------END CONTROL-------------------------
{ document text follows ... }
·
Note that the standard keywords
PRINTER TABLE

File

using the Printer Type which we added in the foregoing step. Note that the user must
\Key{Tab} to the Format Type field and enter the correct Printer Type.
Additional Information
If you have one or two printers and plan on using only a single letterhead, you may wish to add one or more
new printer records to the Site Printers database. These records would have as characteristics the new ALL-IN-1
Printer Type, VMS print queue and VMS form. This would reduce the amount of user typing when printing a
document by allowing the user to select a Print Destination which would download the necessary fonts
automatically.
Note that as you increase the number of printers or letterheads, the number of potential "Site Printer"
combinations increases geometrically, and printer management will become an issue.
See Application Note \AN{A1-2} for information on managing multiple letterheads and printers.
