"Certain areas of medical practice have well-accepted national standards to which SOF
medicine should conform. Preliminary coordination with component surgeons indicated that
the SOCM curriculum should adhere to these national standards in the following specific
areas:
- the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course for emergency cardiac care;
- the Basic Life Support (BLS) course for cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
- the Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers (PEPP) course for pediatric emergencies;
