Avoid flashy clothes that advertise who you are

Avoid expensive looking jewelry - it doesn't have to be
expensive just look expensive although even this may draw
attention to you that you don't want

Wear shoes that are comfortable to walk in

Plan for bad weather It is always going to be wetter than
expected, unseasonably cool and windier than usual!

Try to blend in as best you can those that stand out become
targets

Don't wear clothing that makes you stand out and announces
"Here I am. I'm rich. Rob me!"

Backpacks and fanny packs scream "tourist" and invite a
criminal to pull or cut the bag off you or slit the bottom and
steal your belongings.

Passports are the world's hottest commodities keep them safe.
Be sure to keep copies of your passport and hide the original.
Carry three copies of the passport and other relevant information:
two in separate areas of your baggage and one on your body.

Photocopy everything especially the contents of your wallet/purse
and the important pages of your passport.

Don't carry your passport, leave it in the hotel safe, and carry a
copy.
