This invaluable workshop is a
hands-on, skill-building
experience from beginning to
end. Learn how to take
primitive skills and apply them
to modern wilderness survival
scenarios. You will learn how to
construct shelters, obtain food
and water, build fires with prim-
itive tools, signal, track, and
improvise clothing. Also covers
recommended survival kits and
"how to be found."

this hand-on workshop. For a

Medicine Workshop
Learn to Return Training
Systems, Inc.
If you are a Law Enforcement
or Military professional you
won't want to miss this work-
shop. You will gain insight and
experience in combining person-
al protection and casualty care
under tactical conditions. The
training emphasizes how to deal
with the first 5 minutes of the
tactical medical scenario by
concentrating on field-of-fire
awareness, quickly identifying
ballistic injuries, and rapidly
treating bleeders. Students are
given active-scenario training
sessions to apply their new skills
under field stress conditions.

The Wilderness Medical Society (WMS)
is accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical
Education to sponsor continuing medical
education for physicians.
Physician Credit:
The WMS designates this educational
activity for a maximum of 22.5 hours of
credit in category 1 towards the AMA
Physician's Recognition Award. Each
physician should claim only those hours
of credit that he or she actually spends
in the educational activity.
ACEP:
The Winter Wilderness Medicine
Conference is approved by the American
College of Emergency Physicians for
22.5 hours of ACEP Category 1 Credit.
AAFP:
The Winter Wilderness Medicine
Conference has been reviewed and is
acceptable for up to 22.5 hours
prescribed credit by the AAFP.

Ice Climbing with the Experts
Dragonfly Wilderness Journeys
Spend a day climbing the
magnificent frozen waterfalls
in the Girdwood area. Although
the program is geared toward
beginners, there will be climbs
to suite every skill level. All
equipment, instruction, and
transportation are included in
the cost of the workshop.
Participants only need warm
clothes (ski clothes would be
ideal). Snacks provided.

Alaska Mountain Safety Center
This half-day field course is
intended for novices as well as
those who want to hone their
avalanche rescue skills. You will
practice beacon searches,
organize probe lines, and set- up
