AGRICULTURE
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
This program provides the basic knowledge and
skills of agriculture with an emphasis on crop
production. Students gain a solid grounding in
animal husbandry, farm mechanisation and
farm management.
CAREER OPTIONS
Graduates obtain employment associated with
crop and pasture production:
q
on their own or other properties
q
as technicians in government departments
and industry
q
in technical sales and service positions in
agribusiness firms
q
farm hand
q
sales people with seed or fertiliser compa-
nies
HORTICULTURE
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
This program provides graduates with a sound
knowledge of the principles of modern
horticulture and the practical skills necessary to
be immediately useful to employers.
