Honours
Graduates who achieve the required grades can
undertake another year of study to gain a degree
with honours. Masters and PhD studies can then
be undertaken, depending on the grade of
honours achieved.
Overseas
marketing
project
A highlight of the program is an Overseas
Marketing Project undertaken in the final year.
Student groups are engaged as consultants by
agribusiness firms and travel to various Asian
countries to undertake market research. The
project provides unique commercial experience
in a foreign country, looks good on the résumé,
and is highly valued by potential employers.
Study abroad
Second year Agribusiness students have an
opportunity to spend a semester studying in the
United States as a part of their program.
Grainco Australia has provided a scholarship for
a student to attend Purdue University and
Queensland Cotton offers a similar scholarship
to attend Texas A&M. Both universities have
excellent international reputations and strong
agribusiness programs. This scholarship
program provides agribusiness students with a
great opportunity to broaden their academic and
cultural horizons. The scholarship holders also
have the opportunity to undertake work
experience in the United States before returning
to Australia for the commencement of their
final year studies.
These International Student Exchange
Scholarships, provided by Grainco Australia
and Queensland Cotton, are examples of the
strong relationships between industry and the
University's agribusiness program.
