the manufacture and distribution of farm

An honours year during which students can
undertake a research project in an area of
special interest to them.
The UQ Gatton agribusiness program boasts a 100% job rate for graduates and the chance
to work with real commercial projects. The program includes a 2-week, overseas excursion
in the final year. Last year, students undertook research projects exploring developments by
European supermarket chains in Asian countries (Malaysia and Hong Kong), various aspects
of export markets for Australian stone fruit (Hong Kong and Singapore) and developments in
e-commerce (Singapore and Japan). The only one of its kind in Australia, the degree is often
cited by North American universities as the benchmark program in the area. This is as close
to real-life commercial experience as you can get at a university and a great source of jobs.
This program is designed to
provide an appreciation of the
business of food and fibre
industries. Agribusiness will teach
you about the marketing, finance,
people and technology that link
farms and their products with
consumers and their preferences.
