The program provides opportunities to develop the technologies needed to
manage the growing, postharvest management and marketing of horticultural
crops and improve the environmental aspects of areas in which we live through
the use and management of horticultural plants and landscaping.

Career options
Graduates of this program are professionals
able to meet the needs of the horticultural
industries for sustainable production and
marketing of high quality "clean and green"
fruits, vegetables and flowers and for the
management of landscaped areas and recrea-
tional facilities. The skills developed will
enable graduates to adapt to changing work
environments well into this century.
In an export-oriented industry that is
continually expanding there are any number of
exciting career opportunities both within
Australia and internationally for suitably
qualified and motivated people.

Students can direct studies to an area of interest
within the program.

The 12-week industry placement provides an
opportunity for students to experience
applied aspects of horticulture, make
excellent industry contacts and investigate
employment opportunities.

Throughout the program emphasis is placed
on the practical application of the theory
undertaken.
q
Students gain additional practical experience
through 30 days of vacation practical work.
