The program provides opportunities to develop the technology needed to manage
those sectors of agriculture relating to irrigated and dryland broad acre crops,
mixed farms and the extensive rangelands occupying the majority of the
Australian continent.

Career options
Graduates achieve a high level of communica-
tion, negotiation and problem solving skills and
will have the ability to work with individuals,
organisations or community groups to achieve
outcomes that are appropriate to industry. They
will be able to undertake applied research and
will have well-developed business acumen.
They will be aware of workplace issues relating
to safety, industrial relations, equity and quality
assurance as well as environmental and waste
management issues in land-based industries.
Graduates will have a foundation in
production technology and management, and

The 12-week industry placement provides an
opportunity for students to experience
applied aspects of agriculture, make
excellent industry contacts and investigate
employment opportunities.

Throughout the program, emphasis is placed
on the practical application of the theory
undertaken.

Students gain additional practical experience
through 30 days of vacation practical work.

through program selection.
