Waterfall Installation Instructions
Welcome to the Spirit Elements waterfall family. A few simple steps will ensure that your Rainbow Falls fountain will remain a
soothing, enjoyable fountain that brings the sights and sounds of nature to you. To avoid damaging your new fountain, and avoid
possible personal injury, please read and understand the enclosed instructions before attempting removal or set-up of the
fountain. Two people are required for the set up of this fountain.
Layout & Assess Components
With a screwdriver, remove lid of crate. Remove wooden crate braces. Place the fountain pan in the desired area. Make sure
that it is level and truly in its desired position, as it is very difficult to move without emptying the pan of water. With two people,
carefully lift the stone straight up and out of its crate. Turn stone 90 degrees to the length of the crate and rest it perpendicularly
on the crate. Do not remove shipping boards surrounding frame,\slate assembly until fountain is in the pan and in an upright
position.
Hanging Slate
You are now ready to place the stone in the pan. With one person grasping the top, and one person supporting the weight at the
bottom, lift and set the fountain into an upright position a few feet away from the pan. Remember, to avoid bending or possibly
breaking feet off of the frame, the person on the bottom end must lift to relieve weight as the stone is being stood up. Grasp
fountain from both sides and lift it up and into the pan. After stone is centered in the pan, remove shipping boards. Hold boards
together while removing them to avoid dropping them on the pan. Insert long vinyl tubing from pump into copper elbow near the
base of frame.
Insert Rock Trays
Insert rock trays into reservoir pan. The vertical splash guards should be on either side of the slate. Be careful not to crimp the
vinyl tubing underneath the rock trays. Add rocks on top of the rock trays in the desired position. You are now ready to plug in your
fountain and enjoy the soft, soothing, relaxing sounds of nature in your home or office. Control splashing or the tone of your
fountain by repositioning rocks.
Maintenance
·
Check the water in your fountain periodically daily for a water level of ¼" ¾" from the top of the reservoir pan. Water will
evaporate from the fountain and adversely affect the performance of the water pump, which MUST be completely
submerged for proper operation and longevity. NEVER ALLOW YOUR WATER PUMP TO OPERATE DRY!
·
Maxi-JetTM pumps are designed to provide exceptional pumping capacity with minimal maintenance. Please read the
manufacturer's instruction sheet for important safety, operation, maintenance and warranty information.
·
We have carefully hand-applied a patina finish to most of your fountain's copper components. If you like this finish as
much as we do, it can be protected from natural oxidation by applying Pledge or another household wax with a soft cloth.
DO NOT USE COPPER CLEANER as it will remove the patina, leaving the original bright copper finish. If you begin to
see specs of green oxidation on the treated copper, its time for more wax. However, should you not wish to preserve our
finish, simply do nothing and allow nature to create its own patina.
·
To clean the powder coated components of your fountain, use mild soap and a damp rag to remove stains and dust. Then
take a damp rag that has no soap on it to clean off the soap residue.
·
Warning: Petroleum based oils, including petroleum based fragrances, should never be used in this fountain as they will
cause permanent damage.
Note: We recommend using a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt) receptacle for plugging in this fountain
