Strip eyelashes are usually worn for evening designs since they tend to
create a more dramatic effect. Eyelash adhesive is available in clear drying,
black drying or dark brown so that strip eyelashes appear more realistic by
matching the eyelash color.
1.
When eye shadow is finished and a small amount of eyeliner and/or
mascara is applied, use tweezers to delicately remove the lashes from
the container.
2.
Place adhesive onto the eyelash strip using the handle of an eyeliner
brush. Add extra adhesive to the edges and sides of the eyelash strip
for better hold.
3.
Have the client close her eyes or look down slightly.
4.
Place the eyelash strip on the top edge of the eyelid, keeping it
as close to the natural lashes as possible, without gluing the strip
only to the eyelid. Press the strip into the natural lashes with the
eyeliner brush or tweezers. Let dry.
5.
If darker or thicker eyeliner is desired, reapply using a pencil or
liquid eyeliner. This also fills in any gaps and creates a smoother
appearance. Blend with black eye shadow. Finish with mascara.
APPLYING STRIP EYELASHES
Since they are more natural-looking, individual eyelashes are suitable for
either daytime or evening makeup designs. In selecting an eyelash color,
brown or black generally coordinates well with most hair colors. A patch
test is recommended before eyelash application to determine allergies.
1.
Delicately remove an individual eyelash from its holder with
tweezers. Dip the end in adhesive.
2. Place the lash on the outer corner of the natural lashline. Continue
working toward the inside corner closest to the nose as you apply
more lashes. Individual lashes are generally only applied to the
outer 1/4 of the lashline.
3. Position and place the remaining desired individual eyelashes
in-between the natural lashes. The number of eyelashes applied
depends on the desired thickness. However, usually only four or
five eyelashes are used.
