Apply removal strip; Press and
rub strip

Pull skin taut and remove strip

(Note: Never wax over the same area twice)
CLEAN and PROTECT SKIN
12. Remove any excess wax; Remove
stray hairs with tweezers
13. Apply soothing gel
It is important to understand that the general procedure documented here is the same for
waxing any area of the body:
1.
Wash and sanitize hands*
2.
Drape client
PREPARE SKIN
3.
Assess direction of the hair growth
4.
Apply antiseptic preparation or
pre-wax solution; Lightly dust the
area with cornstarch or powder
(if recommended)
APPLY WAX
5.
Obtain wax
6.
Apply wax
7.
Discard the spatula
* Wear protective gloves if required by your regulatory agency.
As with any professional skin care service, it is important to have your work area, products,
implements, supplies and equipment in proper order prior to your client's arrival. Therefore
keep these steps in mind:
BASIC WAXING PREPARATION
·
Disinfect service area.
·
Place protective covering on facial
bed or chair.
·
Cut removal strips to be used in
advance­muslin or fiber strips may
be used twice on same client.
·
Arrange antiseptic preparation or pre-wax
solution, powder, wax, wax remover,
soothing gel or medicated lotion, spatulas,
tweezers, gloves and plastic disposal bag.
·
Warm wax at least 30 minutes before
client arrives.
·
Have client change into a smock or gown
to protect skin and clothing.
