Trim and file nails. If nails are too
long, use a toenail clipper. Position the
clipper horizontally.

File straight across, softening the cor-
ners to avoid ingrown toenails. Avoid clip-
ping or filing too deeply into the corners.

Apply cuticle remover cream to
each toe. Push back cuticles with a
cotton-wrapped orangewood stick.

Apply sloughing lotion to entire
foot and massage to remove dead skin
cells. If needed, use a foot file or paddle.
Repeat trimming, filing and cuticle
care on the opposite foot. Scrub both
feet with brush to remove any debris
and clean under toenails. Remove each
foot from bath and dry thoroughly.
Massage
Foot massage is very similar to hand mas-
sage, but your movements can be firmer
and larger. A benefit of foot massage is
the prevention of foot and leg problems.
In order to maintain relaxation, do not
drop the foot or break contact during
massage manipulation.

Massage with lotion. Use effleurage
strokes to apply lotion to foot and calf.

Then, use circular kneading move-
ments, beginning at the knee and going
down to the ankle and back up to knee
avoiding the shinbone and area above the
knee. Apply pressure to the muscular
tissue on either side of the shinbone.
Repeat three times.
11.
Massage top of each foot and toe.
12.
Knead (petrissage) the sole, using
circular movements.
