Apply base coat, beginning with
the little finger of one hand and working
toward the thumb. Repeat on opposite
hand.
15.
Apply two coats of polish, using
light, sweeping strokes from nail base to
free edge. Polish middle of nails first,
then the sides. Repeat the second coat
when all ten nails are polished.
16-17.
Apply polish at the free
edge to help prevent chipping. Remove
excess polish from skin with orange-
wood stick, wrapped in cotton and satu-
rated with polish remover. Apply top
coat and a quick-drying product,
which may be a spray, pump or polish.
Basic Manicure Completion
Perform after every nail service:
· Offer a rebook visit to your client
· Recommend retail products to your client
· Discard non-reusable materials, replace used towels with fresh towels and arrange all
products and implements in proper order
· Disinfect your nail service implements and the top of the nail service table
· Wash your hands with antibacterial liquid soap

rolling the nail polish bottle
between your palms to mix.
Shaking a polish bottle will cause
the application to appear uneven.
