WORKING TO IMPROVE
THE QUALITY OF LIFE
IN OUR COMMUNITY
Nucor Steel Auburn, Inc., 25 Quarry Road, Auburn, NY 13021
Ventosa Vineyards, the newest winery in the
Finger Lakes, is located on the Northeast shore
of Seneca Lake, in the heart of the Finger Lakes
wine region. Ventosa, the Italian word meaning
"windy", offers a unique Tuscan setting which
brings the ambiance of Tuscany to the Finger
Lakes. The friendly atmosphere, premium wine
tasting and breathtaking view of Seneca Lake
provides an experience you will be sure to enjoy
and remember.
The wine tasting experience at Ventosa Vine-
yards is second to none. You will taste a variety
of flavors found in Ventosa's wines as you marvel
at the view of the vineyards and Seneca Lake - no
matter what the season. Ventosa's current wine
list includes 2003 Chardonnay and 2003 Pinot
Noir, both light & fruitier styles not typically
found; 2003 Vino Rosso, a blend of Cabernet
Franc, Pinot Noir & Sangiovese; 2003 Caber-
net Franc, a medium bodied red with flavors of
black pepper, blackberry & chocolate; 2003 Sag-
gio, a Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon,
Cabernet Franc & Merlot; and finally, 2002 Mer-
lot, a full bodied dry red with hints of blackber-
ry & licorice. Spring will bring the release of a semi-
dry Riesling, our 2004 Chardonnay, and Vino
Bianco, a blended white.
Our tasting room is complete with a cafe
serving lunch daily. The menu includes soup,
salads, panini, pizza, wraps, desserts, beer, cof-
fee, cappuccino, espresso and more. Specials are
also offered daily. Ventosa's tasting room is the per-
fect spot to relax, sip a glass of wine, have lunch
and enjoy the beautiful warm surroundings. It is
also the ideal spot for a small luncheon of dinner
for 60 people or less. An expansive terrace, off the
tasting room, overlooks the vineyard and Seneca
Lake. It provides an ideal setting for fresco din-
ing, watching spectacular sunsets, or even a small
gathering or reception.
The vineyard at Ventosa consists of 21 acres
of vinifera grapes. These premium grapes include
Pinot Noir, Lemberger, Cabernet Franc, Caber-
net Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Gris, Ries-
ling and Chardonnay. Additionally, Ventosa
grows Sangiovese and Tocai Friulano, Italian
grapes not typically found in the Finger Lakes
region.
With its elegant decor and stunning view,
Ventosa's banquet room is perfect for your special
event. The banquet room has the capacity to
seat 350 guests. Large or small, we can accom-
modate a family gathering, business meeting, or
wedding reception.
Our mission is Excellence! Producing the
best wine, offering the best food and service and
creating memories that will last a lifetime, is what
Ventosa is all about.
A Taste of Tuscany in the Finger Lakes
Think Cayuga first.
Cayuga Offers Express Lane to Col-
lege Degree. Hard work in high school
can pay off at Cayuga Community College-
and beyond. With college credit earned
in high school, motivated students can go
on to complete a bachelor's degree in three
years, save on college expenses, and start their
careers or grad school earlier.
With early planning, Advanced Stand-
ing Liberal Arts at Cayuga Community
College is an express lane to a bachelor's
degree. Students must first take five college-
level courses in high school, then enroll
full-time in Cayuga's liberal arts program
and pick up two or three additional cours-
es during the college's January and summer
breaks. By doing so, they can shave a year
off the traditional associate degree pro-
gram and transfer into a four-year college
or university as a junior-after just one year
at Cayuga.
Within Cayuga's liberal arts program,
students can focus on a particular interest
while completing degree and transfer
requirements. Concentrations are offered
in biology, chemistry, geology, criminal
justice, early childhood, literature, psy-
chology, and writing. Plus, Cayuga's hon-
ors option offers enhanced academic chal-
lenge for strong achievers. Perhaps best of
all, students can stay close to home for
the first year, to help ease the transition
to college life.
Taking the express lane from high
school through Cayuga and on to a trans-
fer school is an ideal strategy for students
looking to hold down the high cost of a
bachelor's degree and embark on their
careers sooner.
Details are available from the Cayuga
Community College admissions office at
315-255-1743.
