Now entering our 20th year, Swedish Hill,
located at 4565 Route 414 in Romulus, has
grown from a tiny 1200 case winery starting
in our old vineyard shop to one of the Finger
Lakes larges producers with current produc-
tion at 60,000 cases. Through all of this
growth, we are still a family business employ-
ing 14 full-time and 40 part-time employees.
Our tasting room is spacious, yet still manages
to maintain a cozy atmosphere. With one of
the region's largest selections of wines, almost
everyone from wine beginners to seasoned
enophiles can find a wine to satisfy their taste
and budget. While modest in architecture, our
production buildings are filled with the most
cutting edge state of the art equipment avail-
able, which helps enhance wine quality as well
as production efficiency. This allows us to offer
premier world class wines at great value prices.
We have earned more than 40 gold medals per
year for each of the last 3 years. We offer a
large selection of wines from dry to sweet and
are well known for our Riesling, Optimus (a
Cabernet/Merlot blend), and our famous
Svenska Red, White and Blush wines.
A visit to Swedish Hill isn't complete with-
out a visit with Doobie, our lovable pet minia-
ture
donkey that is sure to entertain adults and
kids of all ages. Adults can also enjoy a taste of
his namesake wine, our famous Doobie Blues,
similar to a sweeter style of Riesling. We offer
events almost every month of the year, several
with food and music available. We will be cele-
brating our 20th Anniversary on May 13th,
with live music, food, and the biggest "Ware-
house Sale" in our history. Bring you family to
spend Father's Day with us at our annual
Scandinavian Festival, with traditional
Swedish music, dancing and food. Bring in the
holiday season with us on December 9th for
our annual Santa Lucia Day with live music,
Swedish goodies and sip some Glogg, a spicy
aromatic red wine. Santa Lucia traditionally
marks the start of the holiday season in Swe-
den.
Our new bottling facility will be included
in this year's tours, which start the last week-
end in May and continue through October.
Our educational and fun tours give an inside
look into what goes into making a great tast-
ing wine. Swedish Hill is open daily year
round from 9 am to 6 pm (closed Thanksgiv-
ing and Christmas day).
