Fingerlakes Mall's successful year in 2004 led
into a prosperous 2005 with the addition of near-
ly a dozen more stores to its tenant mix. "We are very
pleased that we have continued to add more new stores
to Fingerlakes Mall", said Gina Speno, general man-
ager. "With Marriott Corporation building a
SpringHill Suites right next to the mall, the new
BOCES campus being built in Aurelius and Finger
Lakes Crossing announcing their first new tenant,
Home Depot, right across the street, the excite-
ment will continue!"
Last year began with Littman Jewelers opening
next to Bass Pro Shops in February. Littman Jewelers
is a subsidiary of Fred Meyer Jewelers Inc., the
fourth largest jewelry chain in the United States.
MasterCuts opened a hair salon near Sears in Feb-
ruary of 2005 as well. MasterCuts is a casual, upbeat
salon that offers cool, classic looks for the entire
family, all at practical prices. Walk-ins are welcome
at MasterCuts.
PacSun, owned by Pacific Sunwear of Califor-
nia Inc., opened their doors in May of 2005 just
off the food court. They are a leading mall-based spe-
cialty retailer of everyday casual apparel, accessories
and footwear designed to meet the needs of active
teens and young adults. Another popular teen cloth-
ing store, Aeropostale, followed PacSun in July.
Aeropostale is a fast growing, mall-based retailer of
casual apparel and accessories targeting 11 to 18
year-old young men and women. Journeys moved
in just before Christmas across from PacSun. Jour-
neys is a destination retailer for footwear and acces-
sories for the teen market. With more than 600
stores nationwide, they cater to a diverse, hip mar-
ket looking for footwear that expresses its attitudes
and lifestyles. Popular brands sold at Journeys include
Dr. Martens, Converse, Lugz, Steve Madden, Tim-
berland, Vans, Diesel, adidas, Candies and GBX.
"Having such highly regarded retailers as PacSun,
Aeropostale and Journeys open stores at Fingerlakes
Mall shows the continued interest by national stores
in our area. It's great that teens can find the style of
clothing and accessories they want to buy right here
in Cayuga County, and when people buy locally,
the sales tax money stays right here in the county",
said Ms. Speno.
Just about everyone has a cell phone today and
with the addition of Nextel, Cingular Wireless and
the relocation of Verizon Wireless' corporate store
from Grant Ave., Fingerlakes Mall is the place to go
when you are buying wireless phone plans and acces-
sories. Shoppers can compare the different cell phone
plans all in one place now that Nextel, Cingular
Wireless, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless
are at Fingerlakes Mall. It's convenient for the con-
sumer.
New to the food court in 2005 is Fiesta Taco
& Gyro, which opened in May. Fiesta Taco features
Mexican favorites like burritos, tacos, enchiladas
and taco salad as well as their popular Greek gyros
and Greek salad, all made with the freshest ingredients
right before your eyes. Recent tasty additions to the
menu include Gyro BBQ Chicken, Homemade
Chili and Taco Burgers.
Piercing Pagoda opened in a kiosk location near
Aeropostale in October. Owned by the Zale Cor-
poration, Piercing Pagoda is the nation's largest
specialty kiosk retailer of gold jewelry. They have an
extensive selection of 10 karat and 14 karat gold
chains, charms, bracelets, rings and earrings.
Foot Locker relocated and expanded with a
brand new store across from Aeropostale in 2005.
With the expansion, they are able to offer their cus-
tomers a larger selection of footwear as well as NBA,
NFL and MLB branded jerseys, hats, and acces-
sories in addition to their own brand of t-shirts,
sweatpants, sweatshirts and socks.
Rochester Theater Management purchased the
Fingerlakes Theatres in the summer of 2005. New
owner Bill Yantz and his family have extensive expe-
rience in the cinema business and they have already
made many changes, including a complete remod-
el of the lobby, with a brand new concession stand,
state-of-the-art popcorn machine and lighted display
boxes. In 2006, look for even more changes as Fin-
gerlakes Theatres plans an expansion from four
screens to eight.
Fingerlakes Mall continues to offer its customers
free wireless internet access in the food court and have
added a free recharge station for people who need
to recharge their cell phones, PDAs or laptop com-
puters. "We were the first mall in the area to offer
free wireless internet access and it continues to be
a very popular option for shoppers. Everyday you'll
see people in the food court checking their e-mail
or just surfing the internet", said Ms. Speno.
"2005 was even better than 2004 at the Fin-
gerlakes Mall with total mall sales increasing in
2005 over 2004. We have also seen a marked increase
in tourists to our mall and our Finger Lakes Tourist
Information Center, with brochures and informa-
tion on hundreds of area destinations, continues to
be a popular attraction for out-of-town visitors. We
look forward with great enthusiasm to what 2006
will bring, starting with the groundbreaking for
SpringHill Suites next door, scheduled for April
1st. They will bring many more people right to our
door with their 300 person conference facility and
Houlihan's restaurant. Right now at the mall,
GameStop is under construction just off the food court,
and they should be open sometime in April",accord-
ing to Ms. Speno. GameStop sells the most popu-
lar new software, hardware and game accessories
for the PC and next generation game console sys-
tems from Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft and Sega and
is also the industry's largest reseller of pre-played
games. In addition, GameStop sells computer mag-
azines and strategy guides, action figures, collectible
trading cards, and other related merchandise.
Fingerlakes Mall successful growth continues in 2005

Due to the road construction on West
Genesee Street during 2004, 2003 was
definitely a busier year for us. However,
we are fortunate to be a business that
goes into people's homes, not having to
rely completely on daily store traffic.
Window Attire is located on West
Genesee St. between Dunning Ave. and
VanPatten St.
We are proud to serve a fifty mile
radius. We have customers from Rochester
to Syracuse, but most of our customers are
from the beautiful Finger Lakes Region.
Our customers benefit from our level
of expertise, attention to detail, and our
personal service.
In our showroom, our goal is to put up
our new displays, showing the latest trends
in window treatment designs. Moving
forward, we plan to expand our "in home"
onsite cleaning service. With this serv-
ice, you will never need to take your
drapes or shades down to clean them.
Our showroom hours are Tuesday
through Thursday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Fri-
day noon - 4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. -
noon.
